Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information and Risk Assessments

All churches were closed in March. During the closure services were recorded and streamed in the St. Giles' YouTube Channel.

If risks were assessed and appropriate contingencies or mitigations implemented, churches were permitted to re-open for private prayer in June. Advice and Risk Assessment Templates were provided by the Church of England - see Church of England Guidance.

In July the Parish Eucharist restarted and a Book Fair was arranged which continues in August. The following Risk Assessments should be read with the corresponding advice e.g. COVID-19 Advice on the Conduct of Public Worship.

Bell Ringing

Bellringing for services is allowed if social distancing is observed. At St. Giles’ the bell ropes are less than two metres apart and the ringers come from many households so ringing of more than a few bells is not possible. For more information read the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers advice.
