While the church was closed from the end of March because of the coronavirus pandemic, our Friday weekly messages from Katharine showed activities by members of the congregation including birthdays, exercise, art and gardening rather than our usual activities events in church. This will continue in August with a monthly message from Katharine.

Rehanging the bells

From St Giles to Manhattan

G Roland Biermann's installation, Christ Falls For The Third Time, was seen at St Giles in February 2016 at part of the Stations of the Cross exhibition. It is currently on display in Manhattan.

A suggested prayer for those coming to St Giles' for the first time or returning after the lockdown. 

Almighty God, we praise you for the many blessings you have given to those who worship you in this house of prayer: and we pray that all who seek you in this place may find you, and, being filled with the Holy Spirit, may become a living temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

 

The church is open for private prayer

The church is open from 11.00-16.00 Monday-Friday for private prayer. Please observe social distancing and any other instructions required when visiting the church.

 

Private Prayer and Reflection on first Thursday of the month 

You are invited to join others in church on the first Thirsday of the month. Please bring the monthly prayer sheet with you. If you are not able to join us, we hope you will continue to pray with us wherever you are.
